The Picnic's Off

Such a disappointment for a man with an esky full of beer and sausages. Never mind - could be worse. I'm counting myself lucky, in fact, and my thoughts go out to everyone affected by Queensland's devastating floods, but especially to my cousins in Rockhampton.

Good luck, and God bless.

  1. Wow, Jack. That's pretty amazing, especially when it wasn't long ago that you were suffering from drought conditions.

    Stay safe. And dry.

My thoughts are with your family and with all those who are dealing with such tough conditions.

  2. Yes. Got worried over here looking at the Queensland dilemma. World weather for end of 2010 to beginning of 2012 has been rough and extreme in many places. Take care, Jack. Best to you and family in all of this. Hope your cousins find dry soon. "It never rains but it pours" obviously applies to Queensland.

  3. Kazza - thanks from dropping in :) Yup, drought just a few years ago, and now I've seen the alternative, I can say I definately prefer my buns dry. (And toasted.)

Thankfully, most folks are staying safe. But the worst is yet to come for Rockie. And for places like St George (I remember getting a superb pie from the bakery on main street there, way back... if you ever happen to find yourself on a trip from Cunnamulla.)

    All the best,

  4. Hi Mignon,

I agree about world weather. Coldest December for 100 years in Scotland; wettest December since 1859 for Brisbane (with snow in Tasmania!); record snowfall in NYC; tornados in Missouri... something's afoot.

    The balance is off.

Thanks for your comment. Stay safe and have a happy 2011 :)
